“9So we must not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.”
Galatians 6:9&10 HCSB
My Dear Emmanuel Family,
I can say alot about what is currently taking place in America but I choose not to. I recognize that America is facing unprecedented National changes that have turned the world upside down, figuratively speaking. We serve an Unchanging God! The Almighty Father is still at work on the earth and He is still in control. We should not allow ourselves to lose sight of our call and purpose regardless of all that is taking place. Faithful and fervent prayers of the righteous still avail much. Let us commit to making appeals before the Throne of the Most High for direction, clarity, strength, and for His will to be done. Regardless of the struggles, we must not get tired of doing good, and advocating for what is right because at the proper time we will reap if we don’t give up.
Proverbs 6:16-19 states, “16The Lord hates six things; in fact, seven are detestable to Him: 17arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18a heart that plots wicked schemes, feet eager to run to evil, 19a lying witness who gives false testimony, and one who stirs up trouble among brothers.” Let us keep these words in mind lest we become guilty of them ourselves. It is a good thing to advocate for what is right. However, our advocacy should not come at the expense of God’s will. We must pray for our leaders and hold them accountable for their actions. With every opportunity given we must work for the good of all, especially for those who belong to the household of faith.
It is important for me to keep before the Believers that we are living in the Last Days and it is equally important that we all understand how this truth applies to us personally. Jesus said, “We must do the works of the Father who sent Him while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work” (John 9: 4).
Blessings,
Pastor Heard
