Unto Us

6 For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. 7 The dominion will be vast, and its prosperity will never end. He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish and sustain it with justice and righteousness from now on and forever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will accomplish this.

Isaiah 9:6&7 HCSB

            Here we are once again at the close of another year. This year has been filled with many ups and downs, victories and defeats but God has kept us. As you take the time to reflect over 2024 it is my hope that each of you can identify at least one thing to be grateful for.  One thing to be thankful for. One thing that has filled your life with joy. December is a time of the year that many celebrate the birth of the Messiah. We celebrate the goodness of our heavenly Father in providing us a Saviour who would become the Supreme Sacrifice for our sin, “For a child will be born for us, a Son will be given to us.”  

            The Word of God tells us that the Messiah will rule as King of kings, and the Lord of lords. His rulership will be an everlasting one because the zeal of the Heavenly Father will accomplish it. The Righteous Redeemer came into this world to give His life as a ransom for those who believe in Him. He was born to die so that we can live eternally with Him if we place our hope in Him. This December, take the time to reflect on God’s gift to humanity and bless and praise His Holy name. Jesus is the reason for the season, and for every season throughout eternity.

            Do you know Him to be a Wonderful Counselor, a Mighty God, the Prince of Peace, and Eternal Father? I trust the answer is yes, and Amen.  Jesus the Christ and our heavenly Father are One, and they are worthy of all praise! May the peace of God be with you and may His Word richly dwell within you. May the joy of the Lord be your strength, and may this season bring you much joy and happiness.
